The selection of Valentine’s couples was one of the
high points of the Valentines activities. Students voted
in their second period classes for class Valentines
couples.
Five couples were choosen: Paul Longoria and
Tonya Rammer, mixed grades; Mark Linehan and
Kristie King, seniors; Joe Brickey and Debbie
Ferreira, juniors; Dudley Hill and Robyn Bradford,
sophomores; Tate Chesney and Shannon Flechtner,
freshmen.
To help observe Valentines Day various clubs sold
items that students could send to on another. The
French Club sold Valentines with messages in French.
They were delivered to the students fourth period
classes. Translated versions of the messages were
located on the wall of the main office.
The choir sold singing Valentines. These Valentines
were delivered to the fourth or sixth period classes of
the students. Groups of students traveled to classes
and serenaded. The telegrams cost$l.
The OEA students sold carnations for $1. They were
delivered second, third, and fourth periods. The
horticulture students also sold flowers in the main
intersection during school on February 14.
The FHA Chapter I held a Valentines’ dance in the
girls gym Feb. 12 from 8:00-11:00. The proceeds from
thi4 dance will go to the American Heart Association.
The dance made profits of $138, according to Mrs.
Janice Carey sponsor.
The disc jockey of the dance was Jeff Brazel.
