That sharp white “56” Ford Vic-
toria seen around WHS belongs to
John Chouts. John bought the car in
Fort Worth last summer and since
then has made some improvements.
He first nosed and decked the body
and removed some of the chrome
trim from the sides with the help of
a friend Jeff Lane. He then convert-
ed the Fordomatic to a stick by using
a Mercury clutch and pressure plate.
The body has been insulated by
sheets of fiberglass.
The “56” Thunderbird Engine has
a four barrel carburetor mounted on
the top and solid lifters on the in-
side. Along with the four barrel he
has progressive linkage.
When asked about his plans for
his rod he stated, “Maybe a 325 cu-
bic inch 1958 Ford engine, three in
lowering blocks, and a new paint job.

Many of the boys in second period
are now playing tennis instead of
baseball, although many of them are
still playing ball as before.
Kent Van Rite and Jim Key are
the undefeated champions of second
period in Tennis.
Randy Noe and Jerry Johnston run
a close second place. Some others who
are learning more and more are Glen
Russel, Mike Britton, Biliy Tomlin-
son, Harold Skiles, and several oth-
ers.
The fifth period class are all play-
ing baseball and they seem to have
the best team of the whole school ac-
cording to themselves. Would anyone
like to challenge them?
