MW He slowly looks around and then crumples the wrapper, placing it in his pocket.
Another successful cheating session has passed without even a glance from the
teacher sitting at her desk.
Scenes such as this can't be too unusual when 87 of 100 students surveyed said they have cheated
at least once. Twenty-two said they were caught, but only 11 received punishment.
"Almost everyone in the high school cheats," senior Tiffany Lathrop said. "If you say you
haven't, you are a liar and a cheater."
USA Today reports that five percent of high school and college students cheat every time a test is
administered. Sixty-seven percent of college undergraduates admit to having cheated at least once
during college, from buying papers to falsifying bibliographies. story Continued on page 7
