Great Plans Made
For A "Great Year'
Look out boys its here again,
that good ole year called “Leap
Year.”
Yep, the year 1956 should be a
big year for the jewelers, for the
girls get to do the asking and its
all. legal; and remember this only
happens once every four years so
a lot of “Old Maids” will probably
be already getting down on their
knees, so you better look out boys,
“HERE WE COME”.

J. C. L. Celebrates
Roman Saturnia
In order to celebrate Christmas,
or the Saturnalia as the Romans
would have called it, the Junior
Classical League sang Christmas
Carols during their meeting Mon-
day before the holidays and had
programs during the class period.
During the class period both
groups made hats from crepe pap-
er to wear while singing carols
and the first year group made Lat-
in Christmas cards.
The second year group was ask-
ed to judge the cards made by the
first year students and voted three
cards, made by Judy Wittmer, Na-
nette Vanlandingham and Char-
lottee Benard, first, second, and
third places accordingly. <§?
The Christmas carols were prac-
ticed by both groups for several
days. Songs sung in Latin by the
group in the hall were “O Little
Town of Bethlehem” and “Adeste
Fedeles”.
The songs were sung in the halls
to celebrate the freeing of slaves
and also the Saturnalia.
The members of the F. H. A. got
together in planning a Christmas
box. Every member brought some
kind of a gift that filled two boxes.
On Christmas Day the boxes were
distributed to the needy homes.
Joyce Golden, a junior of W. H.
S., has applied for a state degree.
The boys in F. H. A. have com-
pleted their leather craft and the
girls have completed their milk-
filter dolls.
