PLANNING FUND RAKER- - Organization plans are being made for the
annual American Heart Association residential fund drive which will kick off
Sunday, March 4. Monday district chairmen met to get an overview of the
residential effort and to learn their responsibilities. Dr. Gene Davenport,
chairman of the residential drive, points out the various districts to Mike
Holmes, Kim Williamson and Max Newman. Others who have volunteered to
head up districts include Charles Reid, Frank Hilnt, Dr. Paul Dunn, Robert
Pearce, Bill Billingsley and Jim Montgomery. The division chairmen will
recruit block captains and the block captains will recruit block walkers.
Individuals willing to volunteer their time to the fund raising event are asked

a.m. Thursday at Cook
Memorial Hospital after
a lengthy illness.

tural Extension Service is
offering a sewing work-
shop from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. Feb. 11 at the
Extension Office Meeting
Room at Houston and
Ave. L.
The cost will be $4 for
the supplies and a drink
at lunch.
Anyone can partici-
pate who is from the ages
nine to 19 years old. The
workshop will involve
basic sewing skills, his-
tory of quilting, sample
quilts and the construc-
tion of a quilted pillow.
The participants will
actually construction a
pillow.
Each participant will
need to bring a sack
lunch, sissors, pins, an
eight to 10 inch embroi-
dery hoop and a portable
sewing machine if they
have one available.
