Lavaca Co, Dipping Report
A total of 2670 herds and 42,269
head of cattle were dipped and
inspected in Lavaca county dur-
ing the month of December. Only
one head was found to be infested
with fever ticks and this one was
on premises previously reported
found ticky and from which the
cattle were not syst matically dip-
ped for tick eradication by the
owner. This serves as an example
of what happens when ticky cattle
are not systematically treated.
This own* r is now no nearer
through with his dipping trouble
than he was nine months ago
when hp started dipping.
During the month of January
we hope to be able to release
about 300 of the ticky herds in
Lavaca County from further com-
pulsory dipping. All of those
herds which were found ticky
during the month of April, and
which were reported tick-tree
since, will finish tick eradication
this month It is greatly desired
that all owners of ticky premia s
in this county continue dipping
their cattle systematically so they
may be released in due time.
Tick eradication having progres-
sed to a point where the end of
it is in sight, we respectfully urge
all stock owners who own or con-
trol ticky premises, to make every
effort to dip their cattle until the
time when they may be safely
released.
One citizen of Lavaca county
was found guilty by a jury in
county court of violating the dip-
ping iaw in December.

PROTECTION
Againsf Against Against
Burglary Fire Decay
Once your house is properly
paintecf it is insured against de-
cay. Decay is just as destructive
as fire.
Paint, to serve its real purpose, must protect
—a pleasing effect is only a by-product. Buy
your house paint with this thought in mind, then
you will think about quality as well as color.
