Tho following prayer of Ormp'ain
Ponnititttoo as publisht-d in '.he houf-c
journal cf yesterday's session raised
quite a brezo in the house this morn-
ing Tne pmyer was as follows.
Almighty God Thou most high
wo comu before Theo this morning
with grateful hearts for all Thy loving
kinduess to us and wo think Then
that thou hast brought logethi r in
ihis hill men as law maker that like
Jesus may bo touohod by tho feeling
of hunt-tti infirmities and wo thank
thee that the spirit of sympathy for
the fallon seems to provil with this
body of law makers. (O God open
the eyes of thoso who have allowed
the love of money to bo a balance
against virtue that thry may see that
purity is above rubies and that in
their hands is placed the power to
save thoso agai st whom the false
stand ud of sooiuty has closed tho
churches and all avenues of reforma-
tion.) May this body so that they
may depopulate and destroy tho
places of ill r pule that aro placed hs
snares beloro t o youth of our land
O God move th's body to grant help
to the tvo mothers In Israel who are
here pk-ad ng for he'p to rcstoro their
fallen sisters Jilet-s them in thoij
heaven born yeamiigs. 0 Father
grant t liit the time may soon come
when our government shall cease to
draw a revenue from the sinks of iui
quity. that it may live upon the prioe
of blood and virtio Forgive all our
sins whether individuil or national
and dually save us and wo will asoribe
all honor "to God and tho Lamb for-
over and over. Amen.
Representative McLeuiore moved to
