Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Thank you for sending the
Chief our way. My sister, Mrs.
W.R. Carroll, and I share the
good articles and the news of
our former county.
We were bom and grew up
in Comanche County and I
graduated in 1938.
I have very interesting
articles by our grandfather,
Mr. L.C. Boynton, of the
Logan Gap community, which
were printed in the Chief issue
of 1924. I will try and have
them copied and send them tcC|
you for reprint. He tells
much, including information
about the Comanche square in
1870. (My husband, Joe R.
Townsend, was sheriff of
Brown County for almost 20
years.)
Thank you again.
Your friend,
Modelle Boynton Townsend
