NEW FIRE-FIGHTING Simulated aircraft fire-fighting demonstrations
CONCEPTS TO BE showing newly developed equipment and techniques
SHOWN will highlight the aircraft safety seminar to be
held here October 2nd. The purpose of the seminar
is to stimulate concerned organizations to improve their capabilities to
fight aircraft ground fires. As a result of research performed at GD/FW,
we have developed new fire-fighting techniques and improvements to exist-
ing fire-fighting equipment. Among other things, the modifications more
than double the liquid-carrying capacity of the crash-rescue trucks.
The seminar will include scale-model demonstrations of fire-fighting
apparatus of the future now under development by General Dynamics/Fort
Worth.IMPORTANCE OF The necessity to screen metal parts from dis-
SCREENING TRASH carded paper trash in each work area should be
STRESSED understood by each GD/FW employee. Recent spot
checks of Packmaster loads have revealed items
that should have been placed in scrap containers and sent to salvage.
The white mobile paper trash containers are provided for the disposal of
paper and burnable trash only. No item of value should be placed in
these containers. Appropriate containers are provided for proper segre-
gation of scrap metals. See that your employees are constantly alert to
prevent the discarding of any item of value. Let's give "Conservation
a Lift" by making sure that scrap metals and other items of value are
properly separated from paper trash.
