DEPARTMENT 57 Department 57, B-58 Wing Primary and Major
GAINS MARCH Mating, was named "Quality Leader of the
QUALITY BANNER Month" f or March. In winning, they posted an
impressive improvement in the reduction of
scrap and rework losses. While this is the department's first such
award, their demonstrated quality leadership during March was so decisive
that there were no close seconds. Congratulations for a job well done.
FOURTEENTH VALUE Our fourteenth Value Engineering Seminar ended
ENGINEERING SEMINAR Friday, April 13. The enthusiastic response
TERMED SUCCESSFUL of the seminar participants to the challenge of
driving costs down through the Value Control
team approach to achieving functional value was indeed heartening.
Across the board proposed savings of 65 per cent on seminar projects were
realized. The real significance of these efforts lies in the practical
application of value techniques to future programs as well as existing
products. Your attention, support, and contributions to our Value
Control program will assure its continued effectiveness.
BOND DRIVE Sixty-seven per cent of our employees, the same
PARTICIPATION percentage that we have averaged for the past
67 PER CENT three years, have signed up to buy bonds
through regular payroll deductions. This
number includes 619 new bond buyers. This response is gratifying,
particularly at this time. Employees who were absent or on vacation
during the regular Bond Drive should be contacted upon their return.Frank W. Davis
