Firefighters Associa-
tion will celebrate its
30th anniversary Oct.
15 during National
Fire Prevention
Week, Oct. 9 to 15.
A parade of fire
and medical equip-
ment, a firefighters
muster, competition
between media per-
s o n a 1 i t i e s , a
barbecue and dance
are among a full day
of planned activities.
• * The parade, com-
plete with local and
visiting bands,- color
guards, drill teams
and Houston per-
sonalities will begin
at 10 a.m. on Main
Street. Some 150 fire
engines and
emergency units are
expected to par-
ticipate.
Units from Mont-
gomery,Fort Bend
and Brazoria coun-
ties have also been in-
vited to participate.
The Harris County
Firefighters Associa-
tion is made of in-
dividual firefighters
from paid and
volunteer fire depart-
ments throughout the
--county:—'Informa-
tion on fire preven-
tion will be available
during the day and
demonstrations of
various equipment
will be presented by
various firefighting
units.
A barbecue will be
held from 5 to 8 p.m.
at Kat Bullows. This
will be followed by a
