It was not known how many
. other people may have been
wounded. Early reports* from
.three hospitals said 11 people
^fcvere wounded.
•"Police said the bloodbath
started early Thursday evening
when 52-year-old Campo Elias
Delgado shot his mother; 72-
«. year-old Rita Delgado, to death
! in the apartment they shared.
He covered her body with
newspapers and set it on fire
before going to -three other
apartments in the building and
shooting whoever opened their
doors,^ killing five people, ail
young“ professional women or
students, police sajd.
, Carrying a briefcase, he then
walked about 10 blocks to the
fashionable Pozzatto restaurant,
in northeast Bogota, where he
was seated, placed an order and
began reading an English"
language magazine. ’
Suddenly Delgado 'started
~ shodting indiscriminately, sen-
ding diners fleeing-for cover, in-
vestigators said 13 people were
killed at the restaurant and two
died later in a hospital.
