A Baytown police officer working at Horace Mann Junior School
uncovered a partly used marijuana joint in a student’s possession,
according to a police report.
While searching the student before she entered the detention
classroom, the officer said he found the joint in a non-prescription
pain reliever bottle.
The student, who had no previous criminal record, was released to
the Special Assignment Clinic, the report said.
The case has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation
Department.

VICTIM IDENTIFIED
Harris County homicide investigators have identified A murder
victim who was found May 3 in a wooded area of the 6000 block of
Thompson Road, near the Baytown East Freeway.
The woman was identified as 21-year-old Janette Lenall Inman,
and she was living in a Baytown apartment at the time of her
murder.

AUTO THEFT
A 1990 Mitsubishi Galant (white, with tinted windows) was re-
ported stolen Monday from a driveway on East Defee. The car has a
license plate No. 469-ZQE and is worth $17,000,
CAMPUS INCIDENT
An assistant principal and off-duty police officer were assaulted
by a student while trying to break up a fight between two students in
the Robert E. Lee High School cafeteria Friday, according to a po-i
lice report. *
According to the report, the student was transported to the'Bay-:
town Police Department. Because the juvenile detention center was
full at the time, the girl was released to her parents, and her case has
been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. !
The other student involved in the fight has been referred to Bay-
town Municipal Court. *

$300 to Lee College students and Ross S. Sterling High
School graduates Greg Wellman and Tiphaine Saveli for
the Mike Cole Memorial Scholarship Fund. The money
was donated on behalf of the honorees of the 1991 RSS
Senior Party. Donations to the scholarship fund are still
being accepted at Citizens Bank and Trust, P.O. Box
150, Baytown, 77522, and will benefit 1992 RSS scholar-
ship winners.
