Humana Hospital Auxiliary
ti Steve McGraw, assistant executive director of Humana
Hospital — Baytown, will be the speaker for the Sept. 10
'meeting of the hospital’s auxiliary. McGraw wjll speak on the
new medical building being constructed adjacent to the
hospital.
At the Aug. 13 meeting Doreen OsbOm, hospital dietician
spoke about the proper procedures in checking out supplies for
the volunteers at the ICU/surgery waiting rooms.
Virginia Wert, president, introduced new members Dorothy
Craig and Julie Jeffers. One of the fall scholarships was
^ presented to Brett Hallum by Maudie Roberts, scholarship
chairman.
. Several members attended the 25th birthday party of the
Humana Hospitals Inc. on Aug. 18. Bill Atkinson,; executive
director, honored the volunteers along with board members

Officers will be elected at the Baytown Genealogical Society
meeting at.9: 30 a.m. Sept. 8 at Sterling Municipal Library.
The Society has received and presented to the city library the
following: In honor of the organization’s president, Evalyn
Bradbury, “Orange County, Texas Census & Carriage
Records,” a compilation*of marriages of Orange County and
Census of 1860 -
Also, “Ohio Marriages,” purchased by the Society in honor of
Victoria Klehn, guest speaker at the August meeting..
Given at this meeting through lum-Roark Chapter No. 2243,
United Daughters of the Confederacy, for the benefit of the
library wefe: “Hopkins County, Texas Cemeteries.” “ Early
History,” “ 1860 Census,” “ 1870 Census,” “ Roots & Branches
Vol II,” “ Probate Court Records, Part 1 and Vol. 1,” “ Probate
Court Records. Part 2 Vol II.,” “County Court Minutes, Vol. 1,

The Society has read proposals for changes to the bylaws and
will have the second reading at the September meeting. The
Society has correlated a book that will be for sale ip the noar
future. Society publications already on the market are
“Cemeteries of Cedar Bayou” and the 1900 East Harrris County
Census, which are available from the Society now.
Society member? have amassed all the cemetery records of
the urea available to them. They are in the process of making
these available to the public. Persons with relatives buried in
any of the cemeteries in Baytowif and surrounding areas, par-
ticularly those prior to 1930, may contact the Society sb that
they may be included.
