to devise a means of escape from his
prison cell and but for the vigilance
of the sheriff and his deputy would
have long since succeeded. From
time to time ever since his imprison

Goes to the Reformatory for Ten Years.
The case of the State vs. Lee
Steverison on the charge of horse
stealing in the District court Fri-
day was a strange one andas he
was carried into the court "room
some one was heard to remark that
"if any one ever needed to steal a
horse it was that boy." He had
bo'th legs off at the knee the resnlt
of one of bis escapades earlier in life
having been caught stealing chick-
ens and tied out in the cold as his
punishment his feet getting so bad-
ly frost bitten that they had to be
cut off. Ho was convicted and
sentenced to ten years in the State
reformatory. He has a younger
brother his partner in crime but
he was so small that he was given a
'thrashing at tbe time tbe no legged
brother was put in jail but it did
not cure him of his meanness. They
were on Capt. T. G. Clay's place
..snd after the horse stealing the little
brother got so much worse that bis
father could do nothing with him
and gave him to Capt Clay who
sent bim off on a sheep ranch where
there were no other children for
Tlim to lead astray.
