Kildare Team
In a six man. non conference
football game, played at Kildare
Thursday night, the Yellow Jack-
ets of Elysian Fields remained un-
defeated with a 19-0 score.
The Yellow Jackets scored in
the first three quarters and held
a IB-0 lead before their goal line
was crossed by the Eagles lale in
Ihe third.
The scoring was started for EF.
when lurry Woodley, l«5 pound

run around left end. Try for point

Bill Tucker scored for E. F. on
a 28 yard end skirt and Sonny Mr

when he suffered a cracked knee
that will likely see him side lined
for some time The scrapping Ross
has been one of the Beareats most
dependable players in early games
and his loss wilt be felt by bis
team males.
Bullpups Lose To
Kilgore in Tight
Battle Thursday
The Carthage Junior High Full
pups lost their second contest of
the young grid season Thursday
afternoon, as they bowed to the
Kilgore eleven by a 20-14 count.
The locals took the opening kick-
off and drove to the Kilgore five
yard line. With Don Malone direct-
ing the Carthage drive, it look on-
ly ten plays to march 48 yards.
The Kilgore defense tightened to
slop Ihe locals five yards short of
pay dirt.
James Williams, quarterback,
sparked a drive to score wilh El-
liot galloping 38 yards. Boyd ran
over the extra point.
In Ihe third quarter Jimmy Grif-
fith recovered a Kilgore fumble
and four play* later Kilgore took
over on down*. Three completed
passes and long gain* around both
ends netted another touchdown for
Kilgore.
The Bullpups took the kirk off at
the beginning of the final period
and marched sixty-two yards In
twelve plays. Ralph Boyd sparked
Ihe attack with five slabs thru
holes made by Yancey Bounds and
William Barnett, which picked up
forty yards and 'six points. Boyd
added the extra point thru thr
same hole from three yards out to
deadlock the game at 14-14.
An on sides kick backfired and
Kilgore took the hall on the Car
thage 48 yard line Six plays later
Kilgore had scored again. They
completed three of four passes,
which were good for thirty nine
yards, and skirted the ends for sis
yards for the game’s final score
The point after try was no good.
This was the Riillpup's second
loss of Ihe season, and their only
district loss. Thursday the locals
will go to Nacogdoches for their
second district outing
to produce a single score

when Ted Shumate recovered a
Rebel fumble After pit-king up a
first down, a Carthage fumble
gave the Rebels the ball on the
Bulldog 30 yard line Ten plays
later Herman Farless scored a five
yard plunge thru the middle
The only outstanding Bulldog
offering of Ihe evening was Ihe
punting of Walter Clements |{e

41 yards per punt
SEEDERS 18 WORKHORSE
Ted Seegers was again the work
horse for the locals In eleven car
ries he picked up 58 yards for
an average of 53 yards per carry
Clements collected the best aver
age with 20 yards in four carries
for an average of 05 per carry.
Bobby Moore averaged 4 yards.
Wesley Reynolds 35. Rickey
