(From San Antonio Express)
Two State Highway projects, ag-
gregating $900,000, will be let by
the Commissioners’ Court of Wilson
County, meeting in Floresville, No-
vember Gth. according to Muj. W. F.
Hutson, Engineer in charge of the
San Antonio division.
One of the projects is for construc-
tion of a hard-surface highway, from
the Bexar county line on the Corpus
Christi Highway to a point t\Vo miles
South of Floresville, a distance of 15
miles. It will cost $.100,000.
The other contract is for a stretch
of 31 miles on the San An* >nio-Cuero
road, beginning at the B xar county
line and extending througn Lavernia,
Southerland Springs ar d Stockdale
to within a few miles of Nixon. It !
I will cost $000,000. It will be of gravel j
construction with hard surface.
Each of the highways will serve [
j San Antonio and more closely link i
I it with the Southern section of its
i trade territory. When the 15 miles
I on the Corpus Christi highway is
I completed, there will remain but
• about 24 miles that will not be paved,
j Unbroken pavement now extends
from Corpus Christi through San
’ Patrico and Bee Counties to a point
! a few miles this side of Kenedy in
I Karnes County. A road district
reaching through Karnes City has
I voted bonds and will soon add anoth-
1 or link in the pavement, leaving only
i that stretch around Poth, partly un-
paved.

K®§Mam@ Dipping aim Zavala.
La Pryor, Tex. Oct. 22-At a re-
cent meeting of the commissioners
court with Dr. Derby of the Bureau
of Animal Industry and a number of
prominent citizens present, it was
decided to put Zavala County back to
systematic stock dipping Novemberl.
This county had successfully carried
on tick eradication work for two
years or more but for the past few
months has not been carrying on a
rigid dipping campaign. The regu-
lar dipping schedule will lift the
shipping quarantine from the county.
