The regular Canasta-Bridge
Club observed their Christmas
meeting at Quast’s in Yoakum
Wednesday night, Dec. 27, with
Mr. and Mrs. V. G. Stindt and
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Leach Jr. as
hosts and hostesses.
A turkey plate was served
with all the trimmings. An ap-
propriate Christmas motif was
observed.

New Year’s Eve at Legion
Park Mrs. Ed Sauer, nee Miss
Katherine Schultz, was named
honoree at a miscellaneous bri-
dal shower. Blue and silver
decorations were used in the
hall and also reflected in the
table arrangement.
The honoree wore a dusty
rose wool jersey costume and
was presented a blue corsage of
dainty spring flowers. The
mothers of bride and groom
were presented with white as-
ter corsages tied with blue rib-
bon. Mrs. Edwin Werner presid-
ed over the bride’s register.
A group of the younger set
provided a program of senti-
mental songs with an appro-
priate reading , “Sharing,” read
by Mrs. Alphonse Jaks.
A plate lunch of chicken
sandwiches, pickles, white cake
squares and coffee refreshed the
guests. Many beautiful gifts
were displayed on white tables.
Mrs. Sauer graciously thanked
all for their kindly remembran-
ces.
