STANDARD OIL WINS.
Supreme Court of Ohio Dismisses
Case Agaiust the Company for
Bribery.
(loinmons 0. Dec. 19. The
Supreme Court handed down a de
c'sion in the bribery ease of At
torney General Mouett against the.
Staudaid Oil Company.
It will be remembered that the
Attorney General "furnished infor-
mation to the effect that he was
approached by Charles Squire of
New York with a bribe of $400000
if he TOtlld permit the clses pend-
ing against the Standard Oil Com-
pany to go by default. It wps
claimed that Mr. Squire was the
representative df F. B. Squire
secretary of the Standard Oil Company-
Fr.mk Haskell and Frank
Rockefeller son of the president.
The court dismissed the case on
the ground that the information
does not connectthe Standard Oil
Company with the attempt at
bribery.
