MARTIN-BROWN
The marriage of Lucille Martin, class of
'45, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Martin,
and Richard L. Brown, ex of '47, was
solemnized March 19 in Loraine, Texas.
The bride attended Loraine High School,
and received a degree from Hardin-Sim-
mons. She has taught school at Littlefield
and Loraine.
Mr. Brown is coach and principal of the
Loraine High School. He served in the
Marine Corps for two and a half years,
14 months of the time overseas.
The couple plan to live at Loraine.
SNOW-FAIN
Nona Mae Snow, daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. William R. Snow, became the bride
of Dr. Robert Henry Fain, March 13, in a
candlelight ceremony at the First Baptist
Church, Abilene.
Mrs. Fain, a graduate of Abilene High
School, is a '46 ex of Hardin-Simmons
University, and has also attended the Uni-
versity of Texas. Recently she has been
studying medical technology at John
Sealey Hospital, Galveston.
Dr. Fain is a graduate from the Univer-
sity of Texas Medical School.
After a short honeymoon trip, Dr. and
Mrs. Fain will make their home in Nash-
ville, Tennessee, where he will begin his
internship at Nashville General Hospital.
WALDROP-TREADAWAY
Wedding vows for Bonita Waldrop, ex
of '46, and Bill Treadaway was solemnized
March 19 in Lamesa. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Waldrop,
and the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. W. Treadaway.
The bride is a graduate of Lamesa High
School, and for the past year has been
employed as secretary to R. Stansell Clem-
ent, lawyer.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Lamesa
High School, and served in the Navy for
three years. He attended A. & M. Col-
lege, and is presently employed by Texas
Electric Company, Lamesa.
BLACKBURN-DRUMMOND
Martha Blackburn, ex of '47, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Blackburn, Sr.,
of Elmdale, became the bride of Kenneth
Drummond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Drummond of Caps, April 9, at the First
Baptist Church, Elmdale.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Drummond attended
Abilene High School. Mr. Drummond is
associated with his father in dairying andfarming.

In a formal candlelight ceremony Miss
Darnell Gibbs, B. S. '47, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Barney O. Gibbs of Winters, be-
came the bride of Mr. Michael Sims, son ofRANGE RIDER

The J. D. O'Michaels are parents of a
girl born March 8, named Michelle. They
have one other girl, Patricia, age 3. Mrs.
O'Michael is the former Grace Burroughs,
ex of '43.

Dr. and Mrs. Maynard M. Conrad are
announcing the arrival of a little daughter,
Carol Lynn, born February 28. They have
one other daughter, Kayla Jan. Mrs.
Conrad is a former music teacher of Har-
din-Simmons University. They are now
living in Richland, Michigan, Rt. 1. Dr.
Conrad has just set up his practice of
orthopaedic surgery in Kalamazoo.
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Zabloudil, Jr., are the
proud parents of a baby girl, named Lera
Ann. Both Mr. and Mrs. Zabloudil are
exes of Hardin-Simmons.
Deaths
Mrs..Woodrow Smith, ex of '38, the for-
mer Louise Josey of 1066 Wiggins, Hous-
ton, has recently lost her father, A. M.
Josey. The Ex-Students office extends
its sympathy to family and friends.
The Ex-Students office extends sym-
pathy to the children of Mrs. A. C. Ivey,
who died February 18.
We wish to extend our sympathies to
Thomas L. Brasher, ex of '34, in the death
of his father, M. H. Brasher of Abilene.
Daniel Edward Beasley of Abilene
passed away after a long illness. Our
sympathies are extended to his daughter,
Pat, ex of '34.
Our sympathies are extended to Mrs.
C. B. Harper, ex '38, in the death of her
father, A. S. Payton.

Following the formal address flowers
were placed on the graves of the former
presidents in the triangle on the campus.
This was one of the most colorful Found-
ers' Days ever experienced in the history
of the school.

Beta Mu Kappa, music honor society,
will offer two awards each year to the
two outstanding students in the field of
musical composition and musicianship
display during the school year in the
university's school of music.
Mrs. Marie Sims of Rotan, April 1, in
Phoenix, Arizona.
Mrs. Sims, for the past year, has been
manager of the Neithercutt's dress shop
in Hobbs, New Mexico. While in Hardin-Simmons she was a member of the Alpha
Psi Omega fraternity, Cowgirls, and Play-
ers Club.
Mr. Sims attended the University of
Washington in Seattle. He is now asso-
ciated with the Mason Insurance Adjust-
ment Claim service in Albuquerque. The
couple plan to make their home at 415 N.
