Jr. Baseball Pilots
Junior Baseball Commission-
er R. B. Smith urges all GD/
FW men who might be inter-
ested in managing a junior
baseball team during the 1964
season to meet with him at 7
p.m. Friday (Jan. 17) in the
Council Room at GD/FWRA.
Ages of players will be from
eight to 16 years.
Rehearsals Open
For Feb. Opening
Of W&M's 'Suds
Most casting is complete and
rehearsals are under way for the
up-coming Wing and Masque pro-
duction of "Suds in Your Eye."
Production dates of the riotious
comedy will be set for late Feb-
ruary, according to Commissioner
Pieter van der Vliet.
Based on Mary Laswell's pop-
ular novel of the same name, the
play tells of the hilarious Mrs.
Nora Feeley-a jolly Irish widow
who runs a junk yard in San
Diego.
Mary Margaret Hoffman, wife
of Charles Hoffman, Dept. 24,
will make her Wing and Masque
debut in the role of Mrs. Feeley.
Her two playmates in comedy,
crime, and beer consumption are
Anita Andries, Dept. 64, and Ruth
Norwood, wife of Bob Norwood,
Dept. 17-3.
Anita, a veteran W&M player
who was last seen in "Love Rides
the Rails," will enact the role of
Mrs. Tinkham, a naive, spinster-
ish singing teacher who can't car-
ry a tune; Ruth will play Mrs.
Rasmussen, a good-hearted home-
maker whose vegetarian son-in-
law doesn't appreciate her cook-
ing. Ruth's last W&M appear-
ance was in "Nude With Violin,"
although she has worked back-
stage in nearly all W&M produc-
tions.
Danny Fong will play China-
town, Mrs. Feeley's adopted neph-
ew who manages both the junk
yard and Mrs. Feeley's finances.
Gwen MacMillan is cast as
Kate and Wanda Spradley as
Conchita. The two add spice to
the feminine contingent as rivals
for the affection of Mrs. Feeley's
sailor-nephew.
Others included in the cast are
John Cahill, Paul Hinds, Harry
Lister, Donald Nasche, Jerry Bar-
rack, and Jack Morris.
Directing the principals, as
well as a steady stream of local
residents, junk yard customers,
irate city officials, and a night
Spanish class on a field trip, will
be Althea Nichols, whose affinity
for trios ranges from the comic
conflicts of "My Three Angels,"
to the junk-yard jail-birds of
"Suds in Your Eye."
Car Club Convenes
GD/FWRA Sports Car activity
members will meet at 8 p.m. Jan.
17 at the Botanic Garden Center,
announced Commissioner G. H.
McFadden.
Purpose of the meeting will be
to discuss plans for the activity
for the remainder of January.Paper Weights and
Holders Offered by
Unusual paper weights and
trading-stamp holders are prod-
ucts being offered this year by
Tel-Co, one of four Junior
Achievement companies spon-
sored by GD/Fort Worth Man-
agement Club.
Henry Borbolla and Jim Nich-
olson are advisers for the com-
pany, which is led by Dennis Hol-
ler, president; Jay Johnson, vice
president; Vicki King, secretary;
and Alfred Da La Paz, treasurer.
The company is composed of 12
high-school students from all
parts of the city. They meet each
Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jun-
ior Achievement Center, 828'-
Taylor to assemble articles and
conduct business. Sales are made
by members during spare time.

a magnifying glass dome with a
small hollow place on the inside.
Different colored and shaped
rocks are placed in the opening
and glued to a cardboard bottom.
Price of paper weight is $1.25.
The trading-stamp box, which
is still in the design stage, will
consist of two compartments. One
compartment will be large enough
to hold three or four stamp books,
while the other half will resem-
ble a miniature letter-drop, where
single stamps can be placed be-
fore gluing in the stamp book.
"The box is being designed as
a wall piece and will sell for less
than $2," said Nicholson.
Other Management Club spon-
sored companies are: Japro, Gen-
eral Products Co., and Kraftco./
