Ski Enthusiasts Plan Weekend
Trip to Red River Jan. 25, 26A host of GD/FW ski enthusi-
asts are planning a journey to
Red River the weekend of Jan. 25
and 26 for one of several monthly
ski trips planned this winter.
Members will meet at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 17 in the Auditorium of the
Lone Star Gas Building to make
plans for the trip.
Sierra Blanca was site of the
first weekend trip of the season
for the group.
Other trips scheduled for this
year include a one-week trip to
Winter Park in February and a
weekend trip to Santa Fe in
March. Last meeting of the sea-
son is scheduled for March 27.
Officers are: L. A. Douglas,
president; W. J. Peters, vice pres-
ident; J. J. Abrahamson, treasur-
er; Winifred Seaman, recording
secretary; and Ray H. Roberts,
Bridge Tournament
To Open Jan. 24
GD/FWRA Duplicate Bridge
Club will sponsor a Team-of-Four
Club Championship, announced
Commissioner Bill Culbertson.
Initial competition is scheduled
for 7:45 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Club-
house with play-off of top teams
Jan. 31.
Culbertson urges all members
to get their partners and partici-
pate in the championship tourna-
ment.
Prizes will be awarded first
and second teams.corresponding secretary.
Membership committee includes
Wayne Straight, Hal B. Parnell,
and Sue Abrahamson.
"The club is open to all skiers
and those with a desire to learn
to ski," said Douglas.
