Community News From Mullin
By MBS. JOHNNIE HOLLAND
The election is over once »•
agin, except of course, for the
run-offs. I surely hope all are
happy about the results. I think
we have lots of shocked people,
especially over the governor's
race. I was for one.
We had a big day Saturday In
Mullin The cemetery dinner
was a big success. Lots of peo-
- pie came out to eat and much
food was brought In. We appre-
ciate those away from Mullin
who came out to eat as well as
our home people Along with
our dinner w^lgalso received
some very much needed rata,
but it came early In the morn-
ing and cleared a way. so the
day was perfect
We received sad news Satur-
day morning of the death of
Mrs. Ralph Legrande (Rose
Meek Fletcher), who passed a-
way Friday night in Kermlt.
Rose grew up here. She was the
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. George Fletcher, a pioneer
family of Mullin. Funeral ser-
vices were conducted Sunday
afternoon in Kegmlt. Graveside
services were herd Monday at

ten o’clock at the cemetery In
Mullin. Rev. Gordon Talk, pas-
tor of the Methodist Church in
Ooldthwaite presided over the
services. Our sympathy to her
family.
Also just recently, funeral
services were conducted in Wa-
co for Mrs. Ina (Loveless) Dan-
iels, wife of the late Mr. A. H.
Daniels, a former superinten-
dent of the schools in Mullin.
The Daniels family was also
well known here. Mr. Daniels
was also in the drug business
in Mullin for several years.
Mr. Dick Kemp is back home
In Mullin again. He has a lady
and her little daughter staying
with him. I’m glad he can be
home again.
I }ust came from the Post Of-
fice and the grocery store
down town. We really threshed
out the election, especially the
governor's race, and some of
the others too. One man told
me if I’d admit in my letter to
the paper that I voted for one
candidate because he was hand-
some I could tell that he voted
for “that woman" for governor.
Alright F. A. I’ve confessed. We
had a lot of fun.
Recent visitors in the Will
pinmmer home were T. L. Gai-
nes of Comanche, Mrs. Maude
Dempsey of Brownwood, Mrs.
Ivy Elkins anjd Mrs. Bertie Car-
lisle of Ablletie and Mr. Ik V.
Klmmons' from the Hickman
Nursing Home in 'Ooldthwaite.
Mrs. Ina Belle Kennedy of
Happy, Texas has been here vi-
siting for a week with her aunt,
Mrs. Ruby Eldson and with
other relatives. m

Easy now ... soon her new high heels will
be “old hat,” too. They’re just another
hurdle along the road of growing up. Later
in life ahe’U find other hurdles. Will she
take these with the grown-up poise and
confidence she shows now?
She will—if these characteristics of poise
and confidence are nourished. And if to
them is added deep religious Faith and
the strength that goes with it. That real,
grown-up, fadng-the-problem-squarely
kind of strength. You, her parents, by
your example and guidance can help her
to find the Faith that gives such strength.
This week, every week go with your child
