For a good source of Vitamin
C and a good idea If you want
fruit with few calories, try
grapefruit.
The fruit you select will be
truly tree-ripened, because
grapefruit won’t ripen after
harvest like pears or bananas.
When shopping, select grape-
fruit which feels firm yet spri-
ngy to the touch. If the fruit Is
heavy for its size, It will usually
be thin skinned and Juicier
than course skinned fruit that
is puffy and spongy.
Don’t worry about skin blem-
ishes and minor, discolorations.
They don’t afreet the fruit’s
eating quality — only Its ap-
pearance.
A half of a fresh grapefruit
Is a boon to the dieter, since It
can be served as an appetizer,
salad or dessert and contains
only about 75 calories. Remem-
ber too, that grapefruit offers
the most Vitamin C when the
pulp Is eaten along with the
Juice.
If you must sweeten your
grapefruit, try honey. Remove
the center core of the fruit, fill
with honey and let it stand for
several hours so the flavor will
spread throughout the fruit.
What a treat for mealtime or
snacktime!

“KEEP THE FAITH"
Heb. 11:2 “Looking unto Jesus
the author and finisher of our
faith; who for the Joy that was
set before him endured the
ckoss, despising the shame, and
Is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God.’’
I — “You Can’t Take It
With You”—
This Is an old quote that we
have heard all our lives. We
know that our material posses-
sions must be left on earth upon
our demise. Jesus knew our
hearts. He knew how strong Is
the temptation to man to hold
on to life and its “Things.” He
Instructs us in John 6:27 to
“Labor not for the meat which
pelrsheth, but for that meat
which endureth unto everlast-
ing life.” Life is so short, it is
important that we turn our at-
tention to things eternal. The
time to strive for eternal real-
ities is now. I mean, this very
day. If you desire to work for
Christ; show love to somebody;
lead somebody to Christ; pray
for something or somebody;
do it NOW!
II — “You Can Send It
On Ahead” —
What can we send on ahead
of us into eternity? Perhaps you
will say, “I don’t believe we can
send things on to heaven now.”
Remember that the Lord said in
Matt. 6:19: “Lay up for your-
selves treasures in heaven,
v. .*■ys.
r "
where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves
do not break through nor steal.”
When we make a deposit In
our local bank it makes us feel
good. Its nice to have some
money, a small treasure per-
haps; but large enough to give
us a sense of security In earthy
matters. A deposit In heaven’s
bank is, to a faithful Christian,
a satisfying and rewarding ex-
perience. When we work for the
Lord, we are receiving a sense
of Joy and peace in knowing we
are busy about our Master’s
work. The Bible tells us that
our labours are not in vain in
the Lord.
HI — “He that cometh to God
must believe that He is, and He
is a rewarder of them that dili-
gently seek Him.”—
Faith is essential to salvation.
It is also essential to all spirit-
ual exercise. A man must be-
lieve. He must trust the Lord.
Faith will bring with it its own
rewards. We can by prayer,
study, and worship, Increase our
faith. It is so Important that we
keep the faith. Serving the Lord
with diligence, earnestly con-
tending for the truth, never
satisfied to sit and sleep while
others do those things which we
ought to be doing.
Paul’s testimony could be
ours. “I have fought a good
fight, I have finished my
course, I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there Is laid up for
me a crown of rightousness
when the Lord, the righteous
Judge, shall give me at that
day: and not to me only, but
unto all them also that love
HU appearing.” AMEN.
