A deal was consumated here
this week wherein Will E. Rose
bought the Ooldthwalte Cafe
from Mr. and Mrs. Dan Holland,
who have operated it for the
past several years.
Allan Poe of Star was honor
ed by the Ooldthwalte Lions
Club in regular third Tuesday
night meeting at the Ooldth-
walte Cafe for his achievement
in feeding the calf that won the
grand championship at the San
Angelo Livestock Show.
The PTA is to sponsor a
health clinic in the school be
ginning April 31st. Dr. Slaugh-
ter, his nurse, and Dr. Oraves
are donating their service to
this clinic.
Miss Olenna Venable, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ven-
able became the bride of Joe
Shelby Langford, son of Lottie
Langford and the late Mr. A. O.
Langford on Easter Sunday, the
6th of April, at the Ooldthwalte
Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Wlnnlfred Shel-
don gave a buffet dinner and
birthday celebration in honor
of their two charming little
girls, Barbara Ann and Billy Jo.
Mrs. Maud Newberry visited
her sister, Mrs. Charlie Roberts
and husband at Mullln the lat-
ter part of the week.

the Ooldthwalte High School
was represented in the Texas
Interscholastic Music Meet at
Baylor College in Belton. Four
places were won by Ooldth-
walte.
Rev. Joe Bennlngfleld prea-
ched Sunday morning to a
large crowd.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Blackburn
and Delpha Rose visited M. L.
Casbeer and family Sunday af-
ternoon. (South Bennett)
W. H. Freeman has been quite
sick with the flu. He is much
better now.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Powell
and Miss Katherine Hill visited
in the Cummings home Sunday

Mrs. Will Fox of Lampasas
spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. E-
