Entrance exam set
A pre-entrance exam for the
South Plain* College associate
degree nursing program is
scheduled Friday, Sept. 22.
The exam will be given 1*5
p.m. in the nursing computer lab in
the Technical Arts Building in
Levelland. Fee is S20.
Additional exams will be given
9 a.m.-noon Sept. 30 and 1-5 p.m.
Oct. 6.
The exam is among
requirements for entrance into the
spring nursing program.
Students successfully
completing the two-year program
will receive an Associate of
Applied Science Degree and will
be eligible to take the State Board
Exam (NCLEX) for registered
nurse licensure.

| Emily LeVick joins
Tech honor society
Mr. and Mr'S. David Cowan
Emily LeVick of Levelland has
accepted membership in the
National Society of Collegiate'
Scholars and will be honored during
a campus ceremony this fall at
Texas Tech University.
She is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John LeVick of Levelland.
The National Society of
Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is a
highly selective, national, non-profit
honors organization Founded in
1994, NSCS recognizes first and
second year undo-graduate students
who excel academically.
The NSCS was established on
the principle that with scholarship
comes a responsibility to develop
leadership and a duty to perform
service.
“NSCS provides the opportunity
for students, like Emily, to be
recognized for their outstanding
academic accomplishments early in
their college experience,” said Steve

celebrate 40th anniversary
Mr and Mrs David Cowan of Levelland will celebrate their 40th
wedding anniversary today. Sept 17th from 2-4 p.m. in the First Baptist
Church parlor in Levelland Their children will host the event Friends are

David and the former Pat Evans were married on Sept 17, 1960, in
Lubbock
They are the parents of Traci and Troy Cowan of Levelland. Patrice
and Albert Sharbutt of Amarillo, Kristie and Dwayne Garnett of Midland,
and Melanie and Scott Johnson of Georgetown. They have eight
grandchildren.

Tech University in commencement
exercises held Aug. 12, 2000, in the
United Spirit Arena in Lubbock
She received a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Merchandising with a
mutor in Marketing
Slape did her internship this
summer at Belk. Inc. in Clarksville,
TN where she is now employed.
A 1996 graduate of Levelland
High School and a 1998 graduate of
South Plains College, she was
named Who's Who in Campus
Ambassadors. While attending
Texas Tech, she was a member of
the Delta of Texas Honor Society.
