Ms. Bishop, who died Sept 27,
was a native of Wingate, and
married Marvin J. Bishop in 1929.
They moved to Levelland in 1937,
and Ms. Ashley worked 33 years at
Tipps Men’s Store. Retiring after
her husband’s death in 1974, she
moved to Huntington Beach, CA,
and was married for nine years to
Herbert Ashley until his death in
1986.
Survivors include one daughter,
Peggy Henningsen of Laguna
Niguel, CA; one son, Jim Ashley of
Banning, CA, two grandchildren,
three great-grandchi laren; and four
sisters, Gertrude Loyd of Bronte,
Ruth Cone of Rockdale, Wanda
