Mondays and Wednesdays through
Nov. 1 in the SPC Technical Arts
Building, room 123. Cost is $28
and instructor is Charlene Perez.
The course provides an
overview of the Internet and
terminology, connectivity, service
providers, resources, searching the
web, security issues and electronic
mail.
Those who satisfactorily
complete the course will receive a
certificate for eight contact hours
of instruction.

the First United Methodist Church
of Levelland with Rev. Jesse
Hodge, pastor, officiating.
Burial followed in the City of
Levelland Cemetery under the
direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral
Directors.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 17,
2000 at her home.
She was bom June 4, 1947 in
Levelland and was a lifelong
resident. She graduated from
Levelland High School in 1965 and
attended South Plains College.
She was the first “Lucky Lobo”
mascot for Levelland High School
and coordinated both individual
class reunions and the all-class
reunions held every five years in
conjunction with Early Settlers’
Day celebrations. She instigated
the movement for the L.H.S.
Memorial Wall which was erected
and dedicated during the All-Class
Reunion this past summer.
She worked for Community
Coop Gins from 1979 until 1982.
She was elected to the position of
County Treasurer in 1982 and took
office on January 1, 1983. She was
serving in that office at the time of
her death.
She was the social director for
the Hockley County Courthouse
and was named “Elected Official of
the Year" for 1990.
She worked on the Senior
Citizens Radiothon, served on the
Main Street Committee for
Levelland and was a member of the
Marigolds. She was Citizen of the
Year for 1986.
She was a member of First
United Methodist Church and was
active with Divorce Care and the
Singles Group of the church She
was a member of the County
Treasurer’s Association for Region
II.
She is survived by a daughter,
amber Beadles of Levelland; her
mother, Margaret Parks of
Levelland; a brother, Mike Parks of
Fort Smith, Arkansas and a
grandson, Will Beadles.
Pallbearers were: Matt Sprawls,
Darren Waters, Derek Waters,
Shane Blakemore, Todd Latham
and Dane Barnette.
Honorary pallbearers were: Ted
Latham, Ron Humphreys, Lynn
Waters, Larry Sprawls, Billy
Thetford, Doug Reed, Gary Devitt
and the Class of 1965.

(Oct. 23) at South Plains College
in Levelland.
