Presbyterian circles
meet Monday night
A combined meeting of both cir-
cles of the First Presbyterian Wo-
men of the Church was held Mon-
day night at the church.
Mrs. Coy McMahon presided ov-
er the business session in which
members agreed to prepare Christ-
mas cards for a children’s hospi-
tal in Africa. Year books and work
books were distributed.
“Cross Currents in Christian Wit-
nessing,’’ is the program theme of
the year, with Monday night’s pro-
gram being “The World Telling
Us.” It was presented in the form
of a playlet, with its purpose being
to show the effect of our life as
a Christian upon the nations of the
world. One of the questions asked
during an open discussion was, "Is
it possible that what we Amer
icans do speaks so loud that the
world can not hear what we say:”
Mrs. Mervin Hathaway was in
charge of the program. She was
assisted b y Mrs. J i m Hartline,
Mrs. Vic Shea and Mrs. Jim Rus-
sell.
Hostesses for the evening were
Mrs. Shea and Mrs. Russell.

Wynell Gilley presided at the mon-
thly meeting of the local FHA at
the Home Economics Cottage here
Monday evening.
In the business meeting, plans
were made for the area meeting at
Amarillo, March 7. Miss S. riey
Edwards was elected voting dele-
gate with Miss Jane Mitchell al-
ternate. Miss Marvalynne Durham
will sing alto in the area choir
with Miss Miss Linda Martin, so-

Mrs. Ernest Pope has return-
ed to her home at Falmouth, Mass,
following a visit here with her mo-
ther, Mrs. E. G. Wade Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Maner went
by plane to Dallas for the cotton
bowl game, going down Wednes-
day and returneing Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Waters were
released from the Medical Arts
Hospital at Littlefield Tuesday.
Mrs. Ella Hewitt accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Dixon and
baby of Littlefield to Pueblo, Colo.
Tuesday, returning Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Dukatnik will
move soon to the house which has
been moved to the Dukatnik farm
north of town.
Claude Bundick of Blanket was
here on business Thursday spend-
ing the night in the Warren Tip-
ton home.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hawks and
Angus have moved to the parson-
age of the South Side Church of
Christ, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cot-
ton and Miss Emily Ruth Cot-
ton will move the house vacated
by the Hawks.
Miss Judy Wade was a patient
at Renegar - Campbell - Walsh hos-
pital from Thursday until Satur-
day, following dental surgery.
Mrs. Henry Baldridge and samll
daughter, Peggy, visited her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Waters
Friday.

Joe Collins were Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Davis of Galveston; Lt. and Mrs.

northeast of Whitharral and will
move there soon. Mr. and Mrs.
Shorty Polks have moved to Little-
field and Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Phillips will move to the Over-
man place, south of town.
W. M. Roberts is home from a
business trip to Austin.
