2000 Graduation
Senior Class Gift Registry
National Guild Auditions
scheduled for Monday
The American College of
Musicians is sponsoring the
National Piano Playing Auditions at
the First Baptist Church. May 1 and
May 2. Over 120.000 piano pupils
across the nation will participate in
this annual national piano-playing
event held in 870 music centers
from coast to coast
Every entrant will be certified,
given an embossed pin, and a year’s
membership in the National
Fraternity of Student Musicians and
Piano Hobbyists of the World. ,
Several teachers from the area
have enrolled their students for the
May auditions here They include:
Jeni D Brunson. Lamonte Wells,
Shyrle Hill, Zilpha Scherer, and
Rosemary Jenkins, chairman for the
Levelland center.
Judging the upcoming auditions
is Imogene Harris of Lubbock. She
received her degree in music from
Texas Tech University, her master
degree from the University of Texas
in music, and did graduate work at
the University of Southern
California. She is a member of the
Hall of Fame for the National Guild
of Piano Teachers and has been a
judge of the National Guild for
many years
Charity Dawn Morgan and Patrick William Stark
Charity Morgan plans
to wed Patrick Stark
Charity Dawn Morgan and Patrick William Stark are pleased to
announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Gerald and Faith Lewis of Levelland
and Cam and Theresa Morgan of Lubbock. She graduated from the
University of Dallas in May of 1999 with a BA in economics. She is doing
graduate studies at the University of Dallas for an MBA incorporate
finance with a July 2000 completion date. She is employed at th£ university
in the graduate school of management - office of admissions.
The future groom is the son of Rick and Patty .Stark of Dallas. He
graduated from the University of Dallas in May of J 999 with a BA in
economics. He will attend Texas A&M University and work for a PhD. in
economics. He is currently employed with ILD Telecommunications as a
financial analyst.
The couple plan to wed on Aug. 12. 2000, at 7 p.m. at Caprock Winery
in Lubbock.
Book fair
scheduled
for May 1-5
Scholastic Book Fairs will be at
South Elementary from May*,, l to
May 5 to share the newest books
and other exciting learning products
with the young readers
Parents and teachers will find
plenty of items to interest them as
well
The fair is open each day from 8
a m to 3:45 p m
South Elementary will be
hosting a Family Event on May 1
from 6:30-8 p m. featuring door
prizes The public is invited.
The Book Fair helps promote
learning while raising money for
special projects The goal for this
year’s fair is to purchase more
books for the Accelerated Reading
progranjat the school.
