MATHIS - A woman’s
forgetfulness led to a felo-
ny charge after her arrest
on misdemeanor drug
charges on May 18.
Her sister evidently suf-
fered a similar fate. When
she was called to the scene,
officers discovered she was
a wanted person and took
her into custody as well.
A caller reported a vehi-
cle parked by the side of
the road with the occu-
pants apparently involved

The Nueces River was back inside its banks on Tuesday, as the area enjoyed a break in what has
been a very wet spring.
Chief
Arismendez and Lt. Tomas
Gomez responded to the
disturbance call, find-
ing the vehicle parked on
the back lot at the Texas
Migrant Council on Hwy.
9 (beside Pizza Hut).
There were two adult
females in the front seat,
with a female child in the
rear passenger seat.
Arismendez asked the
driver to exit the vehicle to
conduct a field interview
about the altercation.

Nueces River was within
its banks below the dam,
although not by much.
Water was still being
released from Lake
Corpus Christi at the rate
of 3,890 cubic feet per
second (CFS) Tuesday
morning, but that was
considerably less than a
week ago.
Last Tuesday, 8,040
CFS were going over the
dam, with that number
growing to 12,200 CFS
on Thursday and 13,400
on Friday.

Inflows
to Lake Corpus Christi
have slowed this week,
which has reduced the
amount of water being
released from Wesley
Seale Dam.
That will be good news
for residents below the
dam, as the reduced
releases will alleviate at
least some of the flood-
ing.
