moved to 5-1 on the year and avenged
their only 1985 loss with a 7041 win
over the Brock Eagles last night in
Millsap
Jimmy Whitling scored 19 points
and added 10 rebounds and five
blocked shots to lead the Bulldogs to
the win in the non-district game
Jamie Jenkins scored 16 points and
Brad Campbell scored nine points
and had 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

FORT WORTH-Rani Schatzle
scored 29 points to key a 64-37 win
over the Lady Bears from Brewer
High School in the District 4A-3, West
Zone opener for both teams last night
in Fort Worth.
Schatzle, who hit 13 of 29 shots from
the floor and three of three from the
line, added seven rebounds, seven
steals and two assits to lead the
Ramettes to win number three of the
season.
Mineral Wells took an 8-6 lead in
the opening eight minutes before
Schatzle hit the opening basket of the
second period to give Mineral Wells a
10-6 lead. A Brewer basket made the
count 104 before back-to-back Schat-
zle baskets made the score 14-8 with
6:48 left in the half.
Nellie Aparicio, Michelle Tolleson
and Tracy Reynolds added Mineral
Wells baskets to give the Ramettes a
total of 10 unanswered points and a
20-8 lead with 8:30 left in the half.
Mineral Wells never looked back
from there as the Ramettes raced to
a 31-19 halftime lead.
Paula Friedel opened the second
half scoring before a Brewer basket
made the score 33-21. A Rita Cobb
basket made the score 35-21 before
Schatzle scored three consecutive
baskets to give Mineral Wells eight
unanswered points and a 41-21 lead
with 5:30 left in the period.

41-23 before Schatzle scored three
baskets and Friedel field goal moved
the lead to 49-23 with 1:25 left in the
quarter.
Schatzle and Friedel added late
baskets to help Mineral Wells end the
period on top 53-25 before coach

ABILENE-The Mineral Wells
Rams saw the season record slip to
4-3 with a 75-58 loss to the Cougars
from Abilene Cooper High School.
“The drilled us early, we came
back a little bit in the second half but
the first half was terriable,” Mineral
Wells coach Bob Moore said.
Cooper took a 15-11 lead in the first
quarter before outscoring the Rams
26-8 in the second period to take a
41-19 lead at the intermission
Mineral Wells outscored Cooper
15-12 in the third period and 24-22 in
the fourth quarter but that wasn’t
enough to offset the damage done in
the first half of the 23-point loss.
Jim Addison scored 19 pointe and
Bobby Sutton scored 11 pointe while
Sean Fisher hit four buckets in a row
before hurting an ankle in the first
period. Fisher, who hit four of five
first quarter shots, scored the first
eight Mineral Wells pointe before the
injury sidelined him for the rest of
the game.
Mineral Wells returns to action
Thursday at 3:00 p.m. against the
Wampus Cate of Itasca High School
in the Cleburne Tournament.

before transfering to Mineral Wells
this fall, turned in a fine performance
and ended the night with eight points
and seven assists.
The Ramettes will travel to Waco
Thursday and begin play in the
Robinson Tournament Friday at 5:30
p.m against Corsicana?
The Ramettes meet the defending
Class 2A State champions from Troy
High School at 9:00 a.m. Saturday
before closing out play in the four-
team, round-robin tournament
against the host team from Robinson
High School at 8:30 p.m.
MIDWAY-Graford took both ends
of a twinbill in Midway last night as
the Jack Rabbits moved to 4-3 and
the Lady Jack Rabbits moved to 7-0
on the year
The unbeaten Lady Jack Rabbits
rolled to a 59-49 win as Tisha Lemley
scored 21 points and Niki Bricker ad-
ded nine oointa.
Grafordtrailed 119 at the close of
the first quarter before outscoring
Midway 29-18 in the second period
which ended in a 29-29 tie.
Graford took control of the game in
the third quarter and held a 44-39 lead
going into the final eight minutes
Graford put the game on ice by
outscoring Midway 15-10 in the final
period of the 10-point win
The win is the seventh in a row this
season for coach Ted Bailey's team
