“We are seeing a con-
tinued downward trend
in the number of calls
and arrests,” Arismendez
said.
Arismendez said resi-
dents with information
about crimes or criminal
activity can call the police
department, 24/7, (547-
2113) or Crimestoppers
(1-800-245-8477).
Arrested last week was
Christopher Lopez, 27,
who was wanted on a San
Patricio County warrant
for motion to revoke pro-
bation for burglary of a
building.
Neighbors in the 200
block of N. Frio called
police saying they heard
banging noises coming
from a vacant house.
Four Mathis PD units
arrived
the house. As they went
through the building,
they discovered Lopez
hiding in the shower.
“That was because of the
information we got from
the public,” Arismendez
said. “We appreciate that,
they’ve been tremendous
in providing information,
and it’s all completely
anonymous.”
