Set Records
Orangefield running back Shon Jones rushed for a new
school record, 323 yards, to help the Bobcats demolish
Warren 37-0. The Cats got their first shutout of the year
and held Warren to just three first downs. This week the
Bobcats travel to Kountze to continue district 21-3A action.
West Orange Stark quarterback Eric Anderson set a
school record by firing five touchdown passes, to lead the
Mustangs to a 57-7 victory over the Lincoln Bumblebees.
With only two district games left, Anderson has thrown 19
touchdowns for 1165 yards. The West Orange Stark
defense did its job by snuffing the Lincoln offense and
causing eight turnovers. This week the Mustangs will be
on the road to Nederland to test the Dogs.
The LCM Bears had no problem handing the Nederland
bulldogs a 34-8 whipping. LCM running back Dameon
Morris cut loose with 147 yards rushing and two
touchdowns. The Bear defense put a heavy rush on
Bulldog quarterback Cody Sheppard forcing two
interceptions and also recovering a fumble. This week the
Lumberton Raiders visit LCM.
The Bridge City Cardinals jumped out to a 28-0 lead over
the Lumberton Raiders but then were stunned as the
Raiders came back to defeat the Cards 50-36. Any team
that can bounce back from 28 points is a serious threat.
Beware Bears! This week the Cards will host Lincoln.
Bridge City has been tolling up some good numbers all
year, but seems to fall behind on the scoreboard. The
Cards could finish up on a good note at home Friday by
winning their last home game of the season against Lincoln.
