Baptist Church To
Begin Bus Route
For Church Goers
The First Baptist Church, White
Deer, will begin running its church
bus, free of any charge, every Sun-
day morning at 9:00 a.m. This is an
extended courtesy and convenience
to any person or persons interested
in attending Sunday School and
church. This coming Sunday, June
27, will be the first day for the bus
to run.
The Bus Committee of the church
states that the bus is adequately and
sufficiently covered with insurance
which covers any and all persons
aboard. Persons riding and parents
of children riding may be assured
that a qualified, licensed and exper-
ienced driver will operate the bus at
all times.
The bus will run on all streets
running north and south, picking up
any and all persons who would like
to attend Sunday School and church.
Those interested in riding are ask-
ed to be on the side walk in front
of their homes or at any intersec-
tion. The bus will pick you up and
return you to your home safely.
The First Baptist Church extends
an invitation to the entire commun-
nity to feel free to ride the bus ev-
ery Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m.
The Sam Stones have Sam, Jr.,
and his family visiting from Ohio
this week.
The Rev. Oland Butler is teach-
ing in Officers Training Camp at
Ceta Canyon this week. This is Rev.
Butler’s seventeenth year of teach-
ing in this camp.
Miss Barbara Ann Erwin
Engagement Told
Of Erwin, J. Burns
The engagement and approaching
marriage of Miss Barbara Ann Er-
win to Jackie Lee Burns is being
announced by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth F. Erwin of Amarillo.
The prospective bridegroom is the
son of Mrs. Florette Burns of White
Deer.
Miss Erwin is a senior student at
West Texas State University and is
a member of Zeta Tau Alpha social
sorority. Mr. Burns received his
Bachelor of Science degree from
West Texas State University in May
of this year. He was a member of
the Phi Epsilon Kappa fraternity.
Nuptials will be solemnized Aug-
ust 20 in the First Methodist Church
of Canyon.
The Ernie Bill Terrys hosted
school board members and their
families and the Ray Schultz fam-
ily with a dinner in their home re-
cently.
