PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of White Deer will enter into a lease agreement with a
drilling company to drill I. Earl Nutter Well #2.
The City will set the conditions of the drilling and the clean up
of the site.
The agreement will be a turn key job where all the City will
have to do is tie the well into the White Deer system.
Anyone who is interested should contact Mayor Virgil James,
883-4191 Bus., or 883-6191 Home, before August 24,1983.
The Council will hold a meeting August 24th to determine if a
working agreement can be reached.

floral items for local shopp-
ers, stated owner Mary
Mitchell.
Terri, husband Greg,
and children Mike, 14-
years of age, and Chad,
8-years old, live at 305
Grimes St. in White Deer.
The Snyder's came to the
Panhandle area approximate-
ly two years ago from Iowa.
While in Iowa, Terri own-
ed her own shop and for a
period of time was employ-
ed at Accents Unlimited in
White Deer. Greg is man-
ager of Gary's Commercial
Refrigeration, Inc. in Pam-
pa.
Visits In Lubbock
Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Stan-
defer visited in the home of
the Iven Clarys' at Buffalo
Springs Lake, Lubbock, Tex-
as. last weekend. Mrs.
Standefer attended the West
Texas Hospital Nurses Re-
union while there, and with
Jean Hamilton, a long time
friend of Holiday, Florida.
Prior to Lubbock, the Stan-
defers spent a week in Dall-
as visiting theii daughter,
Judy McCasland and family.

CONGRATULATIONS
Rev. and Mrs. Ivan E. Al-
len made a trip to Lake
Jackson, Texas last week to
visit their new granddaught-
er, Athena Rae Allen. She
is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Roger K. Allen. She
was born on July 24, 1983,
and weighed 8 lbs., 5 oz.
and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Athena Rae was welcomed
home by a 5-year old broth-
er, Jason.
Wessner Graduates
From Army College
Army Reserve Lt. Col.
William E. Wessner, son
of Bill and Mary Wessner
of White Deer, has gradu-
ated from the U.S. Army
War College, Carlisle Barr-
acks, Pa.
The 10-month curriculum
of the Army's senior school
prepares officers of all the
services, as well as civilian
officials of the Federal Gov-
ernment, for top level com-
mand and staff positions
with the armed forces
throughout the world.
The colonel received a
master's degree in 1978
from Valdosta State College

Jerry L. Klein, Adjunct
Professor of Religion, and
Church of Christ Bible Chair
Director at Amarillo Coll-
ege in Amarillo, Texas,
will be speaking in a spec-
ial effort at the White Deer
Church of Christ building
September 26th through 28th
at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
Jerry and his wife Janie
are the parents of two sons,
Jerry Lee, Jr., and John
Richard. Jerry and his fam-
ily moved to Amarillo in
1982 from Lockney, where
he had been pulpit minister
for the Main Street Church
of Christ since 1975.
Since receiving a M. A.
degree in Christian Doctrine
from Harding Graduate
School of Religion in Mem-
phis, Tennessee, Jerry has
enrolled in a number of
post graduate courses, en-
deavoring to prepare him-
self to better serve.
Ross Blasingame stated,
"We are looking forward
to this short meeting’ and
invite and encourage each
one to attend. "

bread, potato salad, sliced
onions, butter & jelly, jam,
or preserves, and tea and
coffee.
Each year the event in-
creases in size; last year
over 2, 000 meals were serv-
ed. A minimum donation
to the annual operating fund
of the Square House Museum
of $7. 50 for adults and
$4.00 for children is charg-
ed for the meal. The an-
nual funding campaign is
the one and only request
made by the Museum dur-
ing the year. Tickets may
be purchased locally at
the Locke office on Main
Street, according to Mrs.
Dare Locke, ticket sales
co-ordinator.
The barbecue dinner is a
part of the annual Museum
Day festivities. This year's
activities include Western
art exhibits from 9 a. m. -
9 p. m. in the Square House
Museum Annex, featuring
bronze sculptures by Very I
Goodnight of Colorado;
sketches,- lithographs, and
paintings of Robert "Shoo-
fly" Shufelt of New York
and Arizona; and porcelain
sculpture from the Edward
Marshall Boehm Collection.
A program, beginning at
2:00 p. m. in the Panhan-
dle High Schoo! auditorium,
will be highlighted with an
address byT. Boone Pick-
ens, area businessman, and
the Panhandle High School
Band.
With the exception of the
barbecue dinner, all events
of the day are free to the
public.

From Vacation

good, stated Mrs. Wyatt.
While touring the Pioneer
Museum in Trinidad, the
Wyatt's, quite by accident,
met Jerry Watson, a form-
er teacher in the White
Deer School System. He
reported to the Wyatt's he
is now teaching in the Uni-
versity of Iowa.
Blaylock Family Now
In San Antonio
Gay, Angelia, and Jona-
than Blaylock have joined
Robert Blaylock in San An-
tonio where he has been
transferred by Diamond
Shamrock Regining & Mark-
eting Unit as manager of
Crude Oil & Pipeline Ac-
counting. Robert is a
1971 White Deer High
School graduate and receiv-
ed his B.S. degree from
Oklahoma University in
1975. Gay is a 1972
WDHS graduate.
Robert is the son of Floyd
and Lavenia Blaylock of
White Deer. Gay's parents
are Johnny and Theresa
Kotara, also of White Deer.
