Bunjes H.D. Club Meets
Bunjes H. D. Club met at the
home of Miss Annie Remmers
Tuesday January 21 for the
first meeting of the year with
seventeen members and one
guest present.
The meeting opened with the
recitation of the Club Prayer
and the THDA Creed. The
president Mrs. Wilbert Schen-
del read the thought of the
month.
An interesting and instruc-
tive program on “Green Vege-
tables In The Diet” was very
capably given by the agent,
Miss Burmeister.
Roll call was answered with
“One thing I want to do this
year”. The minutes of the prev-
ious meeting, read by the sec-
retary Mrs. Willie Menke, were
approved as read. The treas-
urer’s report, given by Mrs.
Hilda Stach, showed a nice
balance on hand. Miss Annie
Remmers gave the council
delegate’s report.
There being no unfinished
business, the president Mrs.
Wilbert Schendel. thanked all
the members and officers for
their cooperation during the
past two years.
Under new business the new-
ly-elected officers, president,
Miss Annie Remmers; secre-
tary, Mrs. Wilbert Schendel,
and re-elected treasurer, Mrs.
Hilda I. Stach, took office.
The club constitution and by-
laws read by the secretary
were adopted as read. The new
year books were filled in. The
president Miss Annie Remmers
was nominated as delegate to
the District THDA meeting to
be held in Seguin in April. The
THDA funds were collected.
The president appointed the
following committees: Exhibit,
Mrs. Willie Menke, Mrs. Aug.
Baca, Mrs. Arthur Nollkamper;
finance, Mrs. G. D. Nollkamper;
education expansion, Mrs. Chas.
Chovanetz; consumer educa-
tion, Mrs. Ed. Nollkamper;
cheer, Mrs. Oran Davis; recrea-
tion, Mrs. Hilda I. Stach, Mrs.
Arnold Nollkamper.
The training leaders ap-
pointed are: Insecticides, Mrs.
Wilbert Schendel, Mrs. Arnold
Nollkamper; food preservation,
Mrs. Willie Draeger, Mrs. Ed.
Nollkamper; legal matters,
Miss Annie Remmers, Mrs.
Oran Davis. The THDA lea-
ders will be appointed later.
There being no other busi-
ness the meeting was closed by
singing, “Ever Onward”.
A delicious lunch with cof-
fee was served by the hostesses
with Miss Burmeister adding
two green bean dishes and one
broccoli salad which was en-
joyed by all present.
Ivory is heavier than water.
Personal Shower
Honors Miss Greive
Misses Jo Ann Henkhaus of
Shiner and Kathy Machart
of Houston, Texas were
hostesses for a personal show-
er honoring Miss Judy Greive,
bride-elect of Kenneth Troni-
cek. The pre-nuptial courtesy
was held at the Shiner Dine Inn
at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Janu-
ary 4.
The hostesses presented the
honoree, her mother, Mrs. Ed.
Greive, and the grandmother of
the future bridegroom, Mrs. Joe
Tronicek, with white carnation
corsages.
The refreshment table was
laid with a white linen cloth
and was centered with an ar-
rangement of blue and white
roses. At one end of the table
was the cake nestled in lace and
decorated with blue roses and
the inscription “Congratula-
tions Judy and Kenneth.” Jo
Ann Henkhaus served the cake
while Kathy Machart served the
punch.
After opening her many use-
ful gifts, Judy thanked the
guests and hostesses.
