Team No. 5 Softball
Champs Of 1965
The Shiner Men’s Softball
Organization closed out a very
successful season. Five teams
participated in the summer pro-
gram and enjoyed some lively
competition. A good crowd of
softball fans came out each
week to lend support to their
favorite team. The free will of-
ferings were generous and
helped considerably to defray
the cost of the new ball field.
The organization takes this
opportunity to express their ap-
preciation to the managers, um-
pires and anyone else who con-
tributed in any way to make
this season’s program a success-
ful one
The final tally showed Team
No. 5 at the top of the win col-
umn, thereby giving them the
title of “Softball Champs for
1965.” Managers of the win-
ning team were Johnny Mali-
novsky and Bill Kirk. Others
on the roster were Freddie Pa-
tek, G. W. Minear, Joe Roller,
Ivan Pfeil, Calvin Tucker, Wil-
bert Bender, Ben Simper, Per-
cy Garbade, Paul Malinovsky,
Daniel Malik.
