open track, field day
The Mineral Wells Soccer Association sponsored Open
Track and Field Day for boys and girls ages 6 - 13 has
been reset for this Saturday, May 15 at the Mineral Wells
track facility.
The track and field events were rained out the last
two weekends. Activities are scheduled to get underway
at 9 a.m.
Proceeds will go toward installation of a sprinkling
system for the soccer field. Students from all Palo Pinto
County and area schools are eligible to enter. The entry
fee is 50 cents per event for the participants.
The list of events for youths ages 6 - 9 yean of age
include the 50 yard dash, 75 yard dash and 100 yard
dash (in track events), and field events to indude
baseball throw, sackracing, Frisbee throw and standing
broadjump.
For youths ages 10 - 13 field events indude baseball
throw, sackracing, tireracing, standing broadjump and
long jump. Track events include 50 yard dash, 75 yard
dash, 100 yard dash and 220 yard dash. a
