Mrs. Lloyd Reynolds, program
leader, introduced Mrs. Hender-
son, who gave an informative
talk on ornamental foliage. Mrs.
Malcolm Jemlgan told how to
take care of potted Easter
Lilies. And Mrs. John Berry re-
ported on the ‘Touch Museum,”
which Is a project of the Texas
Garden Clubs. This local club
has added much to the muse-
um, due to the untiring interest
of Mrs. Berry.
Mrs. Daniel announced that
the week of May 12-17 had been
declared “Clean-Up” week and
urged all citizens of Ooldth-
waite to join all garden club
members in cleaning up their
premises.
Hostesses for the afternoon
were, Mrs. Daniel, Mrs. Chas.
Frizzell and Mrs. N. M. Coats.

ers of America met May 2.
They elected the following offi-
cers for the next year:

secretary, Donna Cox; parlia-
mentarian, Nita Collins; re-
porter, Johnnie Sue Brewer;
song leader, Paula Oreen;
historians, Kathy Egger
Janice Hodges.

The Ooldthwaite Garden Club
met recently in the club room
of the Jennie Trent Dew Li-
brary. Mrs. Walton Daniel, pres-
ident, presided over the busi-
ness meeting. All members
stood for a moment of silent
prayer for Mrs. Cecil Biggs,
Temple, who passed away re-
cently. She was well known in
Texas Garden Club work, hav-
ing held many district as well
as state offices In the organiza-
tion.
Mrs. Paul Henderson, chair-
man of the Yard of the Month
Committee, reported that the
yards chosen by the committee
for the month of April were:
Mr. and Mrs. John Berry as club
member, and Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Campbell’s yard for
the non-member. Mrs. Hender-
son also presented information
on “Litterbugs,” and discussed
the need for action on this
problem.
Mrs. O. C. Head reported on
the pilgrimage to the Tyler
Azalea Trail. The club sponsor-
