Ice Box initiates designated driver campaign
Ice Box Food Stores has kicked
off an anti-drunk driving cam-
paign called “The Designated
Driver Is The Life of the Party”
being held December 1 through
January 1.
In conjunction with thousands
of convenience stores across the
county, Ice Box Food Stores will
be helping to raise customers’ and
employees’ awareness of the dan-
gers of drunk driving.
“While alcohol-related traffic
fatalities have dropped nearly 10
percent between 1990 and 1991,
one death is too many,” said Jim
Magee, president of Ice Box Food
Stores. “The designated driver
campaign will build on our ex-
isting efforts to promote the re-
sponsible sale of alcohol and will
raise awareness. Let’s have a safe
holiday season.”
The central theme of the cam-
paign is to encourage party-goers
to act responsibly and to desig-
nate a person to abstain from
drinking in order to drive others
home safely. During the month of
December, a time for parties and
celebrating, Ice Box Food Stores
will be displaying colorful, festive
signage, and distribute informa-
tional brochures to customers.
