Rockport luncheon super chefs will be serving box
lunches on May 9 during the Tour of Homes to
benefit the art center.
Rockport Tour of Homes preview
Last Wednesday I attended a luncheon to preview
the Rockport Tour of Homes and to sample Sally
McConnell's "box lunch" cuisine at the McConnell home
The food was delicious!
The box lunch will consist of pasta vegetable
salad, cheese wafers, tiny pecan pies, fudge and ice tea
for only $5.00. The food will be served at the Art Center
from 11:30 to 2:00 p.m. on the day of the tour, May 9th.
There will only be a limited number of luiicheon
tickets sold so don't miss out. Call the art center for
information and luncheon reservations. The tour and
luncheon will benefit the Rockport Art Center.
The following is the pasta recipe of Mary John
Lynch that will be served.
Pasta Vegetable Salad
1/3 cup almonds, sliced and toasted
8 chicken breasts, cooked, cut into bite-size pieces
1 lb. linguine, cooked and drained
2 six oz. jars marinated artichoke hearts, drained and
cut (some liquid)
1 ten oz. frozen peas, thawed
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, slice
1 two oz. jar pimiento-stuffed green olives, sliced
1 two oz. jar pitted black olives, sliced
1 red or green pepper, thin sliced
Dressing
1/2 c olive oil
2-3 T red wine vinegar
artichoke liquid
1/21. curry powder
If dry, add Italian dressing
1/4 c. minced fresh parsley
2 T. Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
Calling all kids for Round Up bake off
Youngsters ages 6-13 can show
off their talents in the Ingleside
Round Up Children’s Bake Off
Contest.
The contest is new as a Round
Up event. The Round Up is May
15-16 and judging in the bake off
will be May 16.
Giris and boys, ages 6 through
13 will be able to enter one of
three categories, cookies, pies,
cakes All entries must be made
from scratch, no boxes or frozen
mixes of any kind may be used, or
store bought entries No entries
that require refrigeration will be
accepted because of the heat. A
copy of the recipe must accom-
pany the entry.
First, second and third place
winners will be decided in each
category. First place winners will
receive two free full meal deal
diners from Ingleside Dairy
Queen and one free movie rental
from The Movie Store. Second
and third place winners will re-
ceive ribbons.
Lions Club seeks recipes for cookbook
Ingleside Lions Club is solicit-
ing recipes for a cookbook it
hopes to have printed by
Christmas.
“What’s Cookin’ in Ingleside”
will include favorite recipes from
Ingleside and area residents.
Deadline for submitting recipes is
May 15.
There is a recipe form that
must be used to submit recipes.
These are available from Kathy
Sallis at First City, Texas • Ing-
leside. from Lana Farley at The
International Bank of Ingleside,
or from Gayle Goble at Ingleside
City Hall. Recipes must be
printed or typed on the proper
form and must be signed.
“We can’t promise that every
recipe submitted will be in the
cookbook (due to duplications.
IHS chemical-free graduation
party planning finalized
Final meeting was held April 23
for the Ingleside High School che-
mical-free graduation party.
Committee chairmen include
Kathy Turnbough, donations,
door prizes and tickets: Judy Lat-
ran, food; Elizabeth Mann, activi-
ties, decorations, life guard; Lois
Roth, advertising, clean up; De De
Martini, disc jockey; Rosie Wells,
cold drinks, camera and film; and
Felix Tumbough, party site.
Persons interested in helping
with any of the committees may
contact the chairman of that
committee, Kathy Turnbough at
Ingleside High School, or Mrs.
Mann at 776-2628.

Tom and Tracy Kilgore of Ing-
leside are the proud parents of a
son, Tyler Anthony, born at 5:16
a.m. Sunday, April 19, at Spohn
Hospital. He weighed nine
pounds and eight ounces.
