from judges at the UIL Regional
Marching Contest at Tuloso-
Midway High School.
Ones are the highest mark a
band can receive in competition,
the band now advances to area
competition this weekend at
Alice.
The band drew praise from the
judges on musical proficiency,
flag work, drum majors, soloists
and show design

The bride was feted at a bridal
shower Saturday, Sept. 26, at
Rockport Country Club.

For her daughter’s wedding,
Mrs. Hagy selected a purple silk
sequined dress. The groom’s
mother selected a black and
white dress with embroidered ac-
cents at the shoulder.
Reception
Following the wedding cere-
mony, a reception was held in the
church hall.
The four-tier wedding cake was
topped with a bouquet of white
roses. The bouquet was the one
later thrown by the bride. A foun-
tain separated the bottom two
layers of the cake. The bride’s
table was centered within a gaze-
bo decorated with English ivy and
ivory tulle.
The groom’s cake was a five-
tier chocolate cake topped with a
chocolate basket filled with
strawberries. Additional straw-
berries decorated the tiers.

were Andrea Hicks, Sara Gon-
zalez, and Elizabeth Gonzalez
Miss Kimberly Ann Hagy and
Pete Tijerina were united in mar-
riage Saturday, Oct. 10, at St.
Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic
Church. Rev. Charles Doherty
was Celebrant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald D. Hagy and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Pete Tiierina all nf Aransas Pass.
Darwin Maguglin of Beeville
and Lorinda Dunk of Corpus
Christi were organist and soloist
for the wedding. Lectors were
David Hagy, Hector Dorsett and
John Garza.
Vows were exchanged before a
Trinity candle and twocandleab-
ras each holding seven candles.
Greenery and tulle completed the
setting.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown of
soft ivory satin and candlelight
lace. The gown featured a large
bow at the bustle. Three smaller
bows accented the cathedral
train.
The headpiece, of ivory French
tulle and lace, was “something
borrowed” from Lori Russell of
Ellsworth Air Force Base, South
Dakota. The bride’s bouquet was
a cascade of 25 white roses
accented with stephanotis and
tendrils of English ivy.

ron of honor; bridesmaids Mar-
cella Kasparoff of Atlanta, Geor-
gia, Melinda Hanna of Coronado,
California, Lisa Steadman of
