Paris, May 27—Frenchmen are
staggering under what they claim is
the heaviest of all national taxes. To
pay his direct and indirect taxes, the
average Frenchman has to work one
day in every three for the collector.
In all, he must pay his share of 189
different taxes, most of which are .in-
direct
