Chicago, Jan. 25.—Likelihood that
I ris Speaker and Ty Cobb, discharg-
ed managers of American league hue'
ball clubs, would be returned to an
honorable position in baseball, loomed
today following an announcement by
Commissioner K. M. Landis that he
would issue a statement on the Cobb*
Speaker matter later in the week.
Juarez, Mexico, Jan. 25.—Thous-
ands of anti-American circulars flood-

"United States imperialism — backed
By bayonets," and “the American in-
dustrial oligarchy,” the circulars form-
ed the one common topic of conver-
sation. Several leading citizens were
said to have urged a_ mass meeting,
but police declared that no gathering
would be permitted. Meanwhile con-
siderable excitement was evinced
among the street-corner and cafe
groups discussing the mysterious
broadsides. Origin of the circulars
is unknown. They are dated Mexico!
