First Baptist Church Cleburne is
hosting a community-wide Block
Party at the Coleman City Park
this Friday, July 27, 2012 from
7:00 - 8:30 p.m. At the event,
one hundred free school supply
packets will be given to families
with children starting school. In
addition to the school supplies,
free hamburgers and hot dogs
will be provided, with fun water
games and live music from the
church’s youth band.
The Block Party is the kick-off to
the church’s six-day mission trip
July 27 - August 1. The group is
partnering with Brazos Street
Community Church, Loaves and
Fishes, and Matthew 25
Ministries for the glory of God,
edification of His people and the
people of Coleman.
The group (of over 40 people)
from Cleburne is bringing food
to stock the shelves at Loaves
and Fishes, doing construction
work at Brazos Street
Community Church, and host-
ing a three-day Vacation Bible
School for children ages 4-12

2008 Coleman Junior Rodeo
Queen. She was also the
Coleman PRCA Rodeo Queen
for the current year. While in
high school, Laiken competed
in numerous FFA competitions
and exhibited swine in numer-
ous livestock shows. Laiken
was active in varsity cheerlead-
ing, basketball, softball, and
golf. She also was active in
Student Council where she
served as secretary. Laiken
has volunteered her time for
Camp Rehab, Exceptional Kids
Rodeo, Meals on Wheels,
Little Dribblers, Rehab
Roundup, Trick or Treat for
Rehab, and numerous other
student council events. Laiken
also made and donated blan-
kets to the Ronald McDonald
house and donated a quilt to
the West Texas Rehab Auction.
She was also a homecoming
queen nominee and Rotary girl
of the month. Laiken will
attend Texas Tech in the fall
and major in Speech
Pathology.
