If I do art solely for myself, I
have only my own personal
measurements to determine
improvement, which will be
mediocre at best and outright that awful rejection in a good
lazy at worst. That’s because I thing. It raises the bar and
will not dare to attempt those spurs improvement. If we ulti-
mately know that the very act
of creating art is therefore an
act of gratitude, then we are on
