Dreyer Club Meets
The Dreyer Home Demon-
stration Club met in regular'
session recently in the Parish
Hall with 17 members and one
guest present. Minutes of the
last meeting were read and ap-
proved and the council report
was given. New year books
were distributed and THDA
dues were paid. A motion was
made and passed to give $5.00
to the Polio Drive.
The demonstration for the
afternoon was on “The Care of
Clothing.”
Some club leaders elected
were: Exhibit, Mrs. Leonard
Dreyer and Mrs. Karl Knippa;
Education: Mrs. Emanuel Knip-
pa; Finance, Mrs. Herbert Hoe-
rig and Mrs. A. A. Hartl; Mar-
keting, Mrs. Barney Matocha
and Lydia Liest; Food leaders,
Mrs. Richard Chumchai and
Mrs. Ewald Schmidt; Clothing
leaders, Mrs. Walter Schmidt
and Mrs. Alfred Dreyer; Food
demonstrator, Mrs. Emanuel
Knippa; Clothing demonstrator,
Mrs. Clarence Zinke; and Cheer
leader, Mrs. Louis Zinke.
The meeting was adjourned
and refreshments were served.
The next meeting will be -
held February 18 at 2 o’clock
at the Parish Hall with Mrs.
Charles Fehner, Mrs. A. A.
Hartl and Mrs. Herbert Hoerig
as hostesses. — Reporter.

Firemen’s Auxiliary
Entertained
The members of the Auxil-
iary, who attended the Decem-
ber meeting, were given a real
treat by Mrs. Emil Balusek Sr.
at the conclusion of the busi-
ness session. All present went
to the Balusek home where a
delicious supper was served.
Sausage, salads, pickles, radish-
es, fruit jello, bread, cake and
drinks were served.
The Auxiliary wishes to
thank Mr. and Mrs. Balusek Sr.
for this wonderful surprise and
assure them it was greatly ap-
preciated.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Handsur
and daughters, Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Handsur of San Antonio
spent the weekend in the A. L.
Valek home. Mrs. Valek re-
turned with them for a few
days visit.

Dreyer of Dallas spent the
weekend in their parental
homes here and in Sabinal.

Drabek were Mr. and Mrs.
Adolf Matusek of Sweet Home.

baby girl, born at the local hos-
pital January 28. The little Miss
tipped the scale at six pounds.

The Shiner Dine Inn, with
Dr. and Mrs. F. M. Wagner and
Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Darilek host
couples for the Canasta players,
served a Mexican plate of en-
chiladas, tamales, rice, beans,
slaw and apple pie and coffee,
Wednesday, January 28.
Present were Messrs and
Mmes. Edgar Wolters, Ernest
Hajek, E. A. Mueller, Paul
Reed, Fred Krause and Mmes.
Alfred Brosch and Robert J.
Wagner.
First prize fell to Mr. and
Mrs. Mueller, while second was
awarded Mr. and Mrs. Reed.

Mrs. Louis Krenek named her
son, Albert, honoree on his
sixth -birthday anniversary at
their home Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Tiny tot, indoor games were
enjoyed by the 14 little ones
present with their mothers.
Festive colored balloons and
toys added to the occasion.
The refreshment board was
laid with multi-colored cloth
set with green crystal. An angel
food cake frosted in yellow,
topped with six candles center-
ed the table. Refreshments in-
cluded cakes, koiaches, pickles,
potato chips, sandwiches, cook-
ies and orange drink. Candy
Valentine hearts served as fav-
ors.
