Paul and Susan Benedict, left, donate, at cost, a
Remington 570 pump-action .22 caliber rifle to
the Sachse Chamber of Commerce to be used in
the organization’s 4th Annual Live & Silent
Auction at the Sachse Chamber's Awards
Banquet this Saturday. Chad Engbrock, outgo-
ing Chamber president accepts the collector’s
gun which has a retail value of $375. The ban-
quet will be at Southfork Ranch in Parker and
starts at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from the auctions
will benefit the Sachse Youth Program.

The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday al
SouthFork Ranch. Proceeds from the live and silent auc-
tions go to benefit Sachse Chamber of Commerce pro-
grams and the Sachse Youth Center.

Local Rotarians set annual spaghetti fundraiser
Local Rotarians will offer Wylie
a night at The Grand Ole Opry Jan
29.
The Wylie Rotary Club’s annual
fundraising spaghetti dinner will be
held at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Texas
National Guard Armory, 700 Spring
Creek Pkwy.
This year's dinner will feature
Rotarians as country music stars.
Special guests appearances by
Wynona and Naomi Judd (Cammie
and Kathy Spillyards) and Lee Ann
Rimes (Bethany Russell) are sched-
uled.
Host for the evening will be
Porter Wagner (Baron Cook).
Johnny Cash (Don Light),
Minnie Pearl (Laura McKethan)
and Box Car Willie (Fred
McKethan) are also scheduled to
appear.
The evening will also include
live and silent auctions.
Cost of the dinner, which
includes spaghetti, salad, bread and
dessert, is $10 per person.
Tickets are available from Rotary
Club members.
Proceeds from the event go to
fund Rotary Club projects, includ-
ing scholarships for Wylie High
School students.
Wylie Rotary Club President Laura McKethan and her hus-
band, Ered, attended last year’s spaghetti dinner as Archie and
Edith Bunker. This year the McKethan’s plan to keep with the
Nashville theme by appearing as Minnie Pearl and Box Car

Wylie Methodist to begin Feast & Fellowship
Wylie United Methodist Church
will begin its Wednesday Feast and
Fellowship dinners next week The
gathering is an opportunity for
members of the congregation and
guests to meet and enjoy a catered
meal and Bible study.
The church. 109 W Jefferson in
downtown Wylie, holds the fellow-
ship time each Wednesday through
the spring and fall. This spring's ses-
sions begin Wednesday. Jan. 26 and
conclude March 8. The catered din-
ner is served at 6 p.m. followed by
Bible Study classes.
In addition, the church's youth
program also meets on Wednesday
evenings offering fellowship and
devotional time for junior and senior
high students.
Some of the Bible study classes
offered this spring with the program
include "Being a Parent God wants
us to be” and "Prayer for Daily
Christian Living" a Bible study
class led by Pastor John Thornton.
Other groups include the elemen-
tary choir for children ages
preschool to sixth grade, the adult
Chancel Choir and Men s Bible
Study Group
All of the services, including the
meal and Bible study classes are
open to the public. Dinner is avail-
able at $4.50 for adults and $2.25
for children.
