Soros took from his riches and

— the Rbbin Hood Foundation.
The Hungarian-born financier
donated S4.5 million Wednesday to
the New York City foundation,
which helps 95 local charities.
“I can recognize a good organi-

one,” said Soros, 67. “Rather than
to set up my own organization, if I
wanted to set one up I would do it
the way they did it.”
Soros’ fortune is estimated at $5

Woman steals money to Stallone accused him of making
pay debts, have fun risky investments that cost the actor
PHILADELPHIA (AP) —
Sylvester Stallone’s former stepfa-
ther managed the actor’s finances
but may have igrtbred his own: He
got bilked out of nearly $220,000
by an employee.
“It is a very unhappy occasion,”
said Anthony Filiti, who owns Chi-
anti Cheese in North Philadelphia.
“But I guess these things happen
when you’re not watching the cash
register.”
Filiti nearly closed his company
after the money disappeared in
1994 and 1995. U.S. District Judge
Eduardo C. Robreno on Monday
sentenced Moong Shean Kara
Chang to 21 months in prison
without parole for embezzling the
money.
Ms. Chang used $130,000. to pay
off credit card debt, $32,000 for a
down payment on a house and
$28,000 for a Toyota 4Runner and
stole money to buy a motorcycle
and trips to Hawaii and Australia,
prosecutors contended.
